Christmas Traditions as Worship and Evangelism Tools

I found this article in a past edition of Let's Worship Magazine and thought it would be very helpful for pastors or teachers as they are dealing with Christmas and the traditions around Christmas.

It's a transcript of an address to a group of ministry leaders.

Sometimes it seems that Christmas is overlooked as an opportunity to share the good news in a way that they may be saved. Much of what we have around us and the trappings of Christmas came because those who preceded us understood that there was an opportunity in the birth of our Lord to communicate even as the shepherds communicated, that we might do what we do not giving offense to anyone, but that people might be saved. Fireproof movie Garners Multiple Endorsements from Marriage Advocates

ALBANY, Ga., March 27, 2008 - " Fireproof ," the new action/relationship film from the creators of "Facing the Giants" and "Flywheel," releases this September from Sherwood Pictures and Provident Films. How to Respond When Your Church is Resistant to Change

I've just posted a new article by Bob Sheffield . In this article he says that when your church is resistant to change there are congregational, personal, cultural, as well as fear / faith issues that need to be examined and considered. In the article he offers a list of things to consider for each. He then offers five ways to deal with a church resistant to change: Properly assess the church’s attitude toward change. Honestly evaluate your own motivation in suggesting change. Practice good change agent principles . Educate yourself in the skills of a good change agent by attending conferences and reading appropriate resources . Remember that your role in the change God wants to bring in the church you pastor may be that of starting a change process that someone else completes .
